Let’s face it, going through the airport is stressful. I always find myself patting my pockets for all the essentials (phone, wallet, keys…boarding pass?). A traditional boarding pass is much too large to be kept with your ID card for the TSA check-in process. So, I have designed a wallet-sized boarding pass for American Airlines. This will help paper boarding pass users keep all the essentials in one place.
As for digital boarding passes, the number one complaint I have surrounding Apple Watch-based passes is that you have to physically press the watch face to the scanning surface at TSA. The design below uses similar technology to Apple Pay, which allows the user to hold the device near a receiver without touching it. This will make the experience more comfortable (no more awkward arm-twisting) and more sanitary.
